Dubbledge Smile EP
I must be getting an old cynical git, because it’s a rare occasion that a release comes along and really leaves an impact on me. Either that or 95% of what makes it to the shops is crap… you decide. Thankfully, every now and again a little ray of sunshine comes along to change that. In this case, it’s not so much a ray of light, as a blinding nuclear explosion. Dubbledge serves up the ‘Smile’ EP, which is aptly named as when I put it on the platter it made me do exactly that.
Three tracks of what can only be described as flawless, from the refreshing, charismatic emceeing style of Dubbledge, to the superbly unique sounding beats. Every track has something different to offer, yet each one sounds so unique to Dubbledge’s style that the continuity so often missing in EP’s and even LP’s, is there. The appeal of this EP is massive so it is worth checking no matter ‘brand’ of hiphop you deem yourself to be feeling. This EP comes correct in every manner and for that Dubbledge deserves some success, and I for one will be awaiting the next instalment with huge anticipation.
