Dead Residents & Optimas Prime D.R.O.P. EP

Two of the powerhouses in the Welsh scene join their mighty forces to produces the weighty EP “D.R.O.P.”. With the stylish sample based beats and schizophrenic rhymes that you’d expect from this pairing, this is a Hip-Hop release which will satisfy the adventurous, the true skool and the new skool. This is a release that will please the masses for sure.

Whether it’s the freshness yet obviousness of the Rolling Stones sample on “Boogaloo” or the raw lyrical ability on show during “Flashbacks”, this EP traverses many different lyrical concepts and productional emotions. This is all done with both D.R. and O.P. dropping their signature sound, full of poise and craft. Junior Disprol manages to entertain as always and his reference to “dunkies” (condoms to those who don’t know) shows this is an EP very much made in Wales.

For an EP that impresses, entertains and has longer lasting pleasure than a pack of Werthers Originals, then look no further than D.R.O.P. It’s more wholesome too as it won’t rot your teeth. Win, win I’d say.

This is a release that will please the masses
