Red Seen EP
Nottingham based producer Red may not be a name familiar to many but it’s quite possible you’ve heard his music. Reasons being that his single, ‘Seen’ – created entirely by scratching, including the drums, rifts and even the melodies – was recently used in the ‘Playsatan’ advert for Sony PSP.
Despite the inventive use of sampling the track is more Daft Punk than DJ Shadow with it’s down tempo yet playful infection. For this young producer the future looks bright, the future looks…Red.
Kids In Tracksuits are brought in for the remix - why these young tykes aren’t receiving the lavish praise their undoubted talents deserve is beyond me – and take the track into more sinister, cinematic territory.
