Call me easily pleased, but I really do love buying something all wrapped up in gleeful packaging. Makes you feel like your clearing the dole queue of all those design graduates. Mofu Recordings are one of those companies who make an effort with their product, and this release comes in some bizarre folder type thing. Probably won’t last more than five minutes, but hey it’s a very nice touch. Usually when I’m suckered into buying product for its packaging, I get a big smack in the face for being so stupid due to the fact what I buy is crap. Sadly this product is likely to act as a reinforcer for my consumerist ways, because its actually very good. This EP is very strong, with Skuff coming of as the best emcee for me, blessing “Action Response” & “Resented” with great strength of content. So good is the man, he’s the only emcee to get his own track, sadly “Smoke Ink Ill’s” isn’t the best track on the EP, but its still worthy of heavy rotation. But the winner of best track is “Lose It Nicely” with its cut up chorus of Chester P, wicked emceeing all the way through plus blinding production. Don’t forget to listen out for the second emcee on this track, as Ill Seer is a regular to this site! This is a product in the fullest sense, the music content is top choice, but if that ain’t enough the packing will have you buying if you’re a sad consumer like me.
