Orifice Vulgatron’s Birthday Celebrations Cargo
On the 26th May Orifice Vulgatron celebrated his birthday in style with some of the cream of UK hip hop. Held at the Shoreditch club, Cargo, there were also many paying customers wishing special returns to the lead vocalist from Foreign Beggars, and there was a definite party mood in the air.
One of the main draws of the night was the guys from Terra Firma. Unfortunately, Klashnekoff was unable to make an appearance, but Kyza and Skriblah certainly did a valiant job of getting the crowd moving. Due to time pressures, they were also restricted to only three tunes, but finishing off on the sure to be classic “Light’s Out” certainly went down a treat. And to make up for any possible disappointment on missing Klashnekoff, there was a surprise appearance by Jehst. Also limited to only three tracks meant that he left the stage with people baying for more and Foreign Beggars were on hand to bring the party to an amazing climax.
Orifice was bouncing around like a Mexican jumping bean, obviously ecstatic at how the celebrations were turning out. He had been hyping everyone up all night and he carried on with a wonderful set. There was yet another surprise appearance, this time by Task Force, at one point. They’d been hanging around drinking in the audience earlier but decided that the best way to wish a happy birthday was to invade the stage and treat us to a couple of tunes before insulting the Shoreditch based members of the audience. Foreign Beggars then continued with some amazing performances by Dr Syntax and the beatboxer Shlomo. There was also a particularly amazing section of the set onvolving both of those plus a singer called Taurai.
All in all a good time was had by all and headlining a show such as this must be one of the better to ways to commemorate being a year older.
