FingaThing SubClub Audio Phy
Phi
To be honest, I did not think that this night was going to be that busy. Finga Thing had played Glasgow only a few weeks before and my expectation was that less people may turn up to see them second time wrong. Now this doesn’t often happen … but how wrong could I be?! Psi Phy was packed wall to wall. I timed it with precision, I walked into the club to hear that Peter Parker was under starters orders. Talented duo Peter Parker (on decks) and Sneaky (on Double Bass), took a mere mater of seconds to encaptulate the crowd amassed around them. I, my mate Stef and my beer, pushed our way through the crowd. You would have thought the Pope had come to visit, the hassle we had getting through to the front. Once there our inners were set upon by Sneaky on the Double Bass. Now I have heard Hip Hop with a double Bass before and I thought it was good, a bit too funky for my liking but good non-the-less. However this was the reindeers antlers! We were treated to every tune off the album, from what I can remember, I just remember nodding to all around me saying “That’s the shit!” Anything other than that I can’t really remember that well. I must point out though, I was not drunk! I was merely caught up in the moment and let me tell you that takes some doing! Peter Parker effortlessly cut up over the double bass which mixed like coffee and water. It was one of those occasions when you are busting for the toilet but don’t want to miss a second. Everyone else must have had the same thought as after several “That’s it…. No come back! .. OK well maybe one more!” palaver was finished there was the biggest exodus I have ever seen going to the toilet at once. Blocked toilets and urinals claimed this night an absolute classic! How Paul and Alex must be proud of themselves … sterling work guys!
