Deckwrecka V is for Vengance LP

Deckwrecka steps up here with an offering of 27 tracks - yup 27! This is a mixture of stuff already released on his previous five EPs on Ronin and some new shit all with a super tangled twist. Stretching across double wax (although the records are super flimsy n' very snap-able) this is a diverse instrumental soundscape. It varies tempo and emphasis throughout although the main element is always a banging beat. Its a sample heavy album taking snippets from many many films n' bits - mainly UK references n' Ninja stance type stuff. He is a very talented producer who oozes the funk out of every track - and thats why this LP works - its fucking funky and would make a perfect backdrop to either cotching with a spliff or chillin freestylin whatevers with your firm. Just put it on the platter and enjoy straight out - not that you have a choice cos the tracks merge non-stop without a pause. Overall its a wicked listen which keeps you interested by rolling betwen strict downtempo lazers to large bassy head nodders to jump up (jeep style) beat scrambles. All with no breather n' plenty of humour.
Overall a really nice LP and what you would expect from such a long time veteran of the scene - go check out this and the other five EPs he's had on his own Ronin recs. The only problem I have with this record is the FUCKIN COVER - what the fuck?? - its horrible - a completely mangled 1210... I just hope it was bruck before it when RIP for the good of front cover photography. Damn!!
