Cee-X Presents... The Foulmouth Crew LP

Cee-X who originally hails from Wolves, has worked with the Foulmouth Crew from his new adopted home, Brighton, to produce this LP. Cee-X is also a man with good sentiments, as this LP is actually being given out on the free to get his and those rolling with him, on peoples lips. Whilst this is a great way to get people to know you and your work, it’s not much use without a little stricter quality control.

Being a bedroom producer nowadays is not always that much of an issue, but sometimes frankly you can tell at the lack of quality equipment used. Providing the producer works around it with refreshing ideas and some quality time to get every last drop out of what you’ve got, there’s no problem. Cee-X evidently has some good ideas and makes an attempt at some dark and moody productions, sadly those ideas never quite become a reality. More noise coming out of the cans would be a good start, as the LP has very little bass to offer. The emcees offer little character on the microphone, with many verses droning on with not enough energy or subject matter. Occasionally both parties pull off their sides of the bargain and this leads to a dope tune. ‘Grade A’ has a real sense of urgency about it, with an alarm bell vibe, the emcees sound really enthused on it.

This LP has things going for it, yet never manages to mix the essential ingredients in the right proportions to come up with the goods. It’s a good job this is being given out free, because as a saleable product it’s just not there. Cee-X and the Foulmouth Crew both show promise, but both will need to come a little harder on their next releases to truly establish a name for themselves.
