Dark Craftsmen No Shadow On Your Sundial LP

Its been a long wait for the next release from Drop Zone Records, after the release of Eastborn's debut album things seemed to go quiet from these Caledonian boys, however, if you are to look under all the overturned rocks you will see that Drop Zone have been appearing on Radio stations, mix tapes and appearing as featured artists all around the world.... but this .... the signing of Southampton based Dark Craftsmen is surely a milestone in the history of Drop Zone Records.

Formally recorded to come out on UK Rap Records, "Shadows on Your Sundial" was then remixed when they crossed over to Drop Zone Records and now in 2005 we have "No Shadow On Your Sundial" . Right from the off the Intro leaves the listener in no doubt that an all out assault will commence on thier very being. With Titanium staff selected Lyrical Telepathy cuts in. Tekneeks vocals reminded me a bit of Kamanchi Sly with a 2005 flex attached, with CBR (Cold Blooded Rhymer) and DJ Relic on the ones and two's this is a serious all round Hip Hop slab of history. True Vandal also features the help of Drop Zones own Eastborn and the amazing talents of one of the best Rappers in the UK right now Junior Disprol(Dead Residents). With both these guys on the track bringing up the rear this track speaks of blood stained visions and haunts the very hairs on the back of your neck let alone making them stand up! Track after track this album takes you through many a horror flick and you can be forgiven for thinking you are in the middle of an audio version of "Blair Witch Project".

For those of you who still remember the "Glory Days" of UK Hip Hop the track T-2000 is for you. Hardcore beats, taking snippets off Apache Drummer, Blade and quoting some of the best names in the game from the 80's and early 90's this track pours out UK Britcore. If thats not entirely your taste, the Title track "Shadows" has a more TaskForce feel to it to ensure that every UK Hip Hopper is catered for.

Quite simply, get this album, you'll be glad you did. It may not be under everyones nose, it may not be in every store, but it should be and deserves to be!
