Dirty Diggers Freakishly Strong LP
Released at the tale end of 2005, ‘Freakishly Strong’ has to be one of the memories of last year which will raise a smile to my face. Having not heard much Dirty Diggers beforehand, this LP came as a really pleasant surprise. At a potentially lightweight 13 tracks deep, there is certainly no doubting the quality served up on ‘Freakishly Strong’.
Production wise, Young Max & Pat Stash have surpassed themselves, by producing tracks of various tempos and vibes, yet keeping one theme consistent… quality! Whether it’s the fast paced moody break of ‘For The Haters’ or the party bboy production on ‘Live From The Headroom’, this has been loving created from high-hat to sample choice. The fact that these two “producers” then proceed to drop superbly delivered rhymes over their own creations only adds to real complete and comfortable sound that emanates from ‘Freakishly Strong’. The album culminates with ‘The Same Old’ which is anything but! A beat that slaps you in the chops and rhymes that help sooth that stinging feeling. What could be better?
Whether you are into beats, emceeing or as I suspect both, this LP will please you on so many levels. One of the essential purchases from 2005, which gets better and better with every rotation.
