Beezwax Sting Operation LP
I’m not 100% sure where Beezwax is from, France or Germany I think and although that’s in no way an important factor, it’s certainly interesting how he found his way releasing an album rammed full of UK emcees.
“Sting Operation” is a relative who’s who of the emcee scene of here right now! Genesis Elijah, Klashnekoff, Yungun, Mr Ti2bs… I could go on! Still the limelight is well and truly on Beezwax and his incredibly varied and dense productions. From the big sound of “What’s Poppin [Remix]” which uses “Sweet Dreams” by Annie Lennox to huge proportions, through to electro-hype of “Cash Doe”, this album is varied to say the least. This variety does make the album feel too much like a compilation at times and although to some extent that’s to be expected with so many guests, Beezwax should have tried to nit the whole project together better. Still, there’s plenty of stand out tracks in there own right and no one will be left totally disappointed by this project. Not when you’ve tracks like “Peer Pressure” feat. Mr Ti2bs & Mr Bigga and “All I Got [Refix]” feat. Klashnekoff.
More like a compilation of singles, than a single coherent album, “Sting Operation” offers much to the connoisseur of the banger, but little to those who like to an album to tell them a story.
