Breakin' Point Vol. 3 Issue 8
Theres not a lot of regular coverage for uk hiphop in the print media - thats why Breakin Point deserves propers for giving the main front cover to the likes of Taskforce, Phi Life Cypher and Blak Twang all in the last year. Whilst Big Smoke caters for the direct uk hiphop crowd - Breakin Point covers more bases with a lot of indepth coverage of drum n' bass and more leftfield genres.
This current issue costs 3.10 and comes with a bargain 60 minute mix Cd - but its inside is where things get real tasty. A large news and review section sits alongside interviews with the Lowlife collective, MC Pitman, the whole Def Jux crew and a wicked in depth chat between Victor Duplaix and DJ Spinna. This hiphop coverage segways with more diverse stuff - aka interviews with established drum n' bass crews like Bad Company and E-Z Rollers, game console previews, live event reviews, etc - just enough to give any hiphop head a drop of knowledge in other areas of our related uk cultures.
Overall, a quality mag holding it down with regularity - you can be sure to see this magazine well distributed across the UK on eight occasions every year. In the absence of other regular quality hiphop mags - theres definitely no excuse not to pick up a copy n' cop the mix cd as well as that knowledge needed for a journey home.
