 Cappo Directors Commentary (mixtape)

Documenting 10 years of work, as you’d expect from a man like Cappo, “Directors Commentary” is packed full of historical anthems. What may be more of a surprise is the amount of fresh material that’s sounding ill on this release. Apparently, over 200 beats and 50 songs were penned for “Spaz The World” and some of them see the light of day on this release.

You should already be aware of a number of the tracks on this mix, but if not, then this is likely to be a fast education into one of the UK’s greatest. Even if you do regularly bump “Gilgamesh”, “Inside You Mind” and “The Looniest”, this mix is unlikely to disappoint due to the shear number of exclusive freestyles and full blown tracks. Cappo demonstrates throughout why he’s such a gifted emcee, throwing down knowledge in a fresh format. I also can’t get enough of that accent, even now some 10 years later. His long time producer Styly Cee also lays the goodness down in droves.

Anyone should seriously consider picking this one up, long time Cappo fan or not. I’m also told that the money’s from this mixtape will be fed into self financing his next album. I for one need to hear that ish, so get funding raising suckers.
