OK so this is a CDR not a mixtape, but its all nicely blended together. Wicked skills are shown on the part of the two Eddies, and the introduction proves that. But its all about the tracks in the mix your interested in right? Well the track list is rather impressive, with Skitz, Rodney P, Ty, Aspects, Tommy Evans, Braintax, Taskforce, Lewis Parker plus others. There’s no doubt in my mind that this is a well worthy purchase as for most of the tracks they have only seen a vinyl release so for all you CD peeps out there, you can get some nice UK hiphop vinyl flavour with all the pleasures of a CD. For me the track selection is mainly on point. Rodney P’s ‘Big Tings’ is my favourite UK hiphop track so for me there’s no doubt that should be on there. Ty’s ‘Mind Made Up’ was one of his best off the new LP so again no complaints here. It’s the tracks by Tommy Evans ‘Ophelia’ and Evil Ed feat. Taskforce ‘The Tournament’ that are the best. With other greats such as an Exclusive from Aspects ‘The B-side Is Next’ and Lewis Parkers ‘The Options’ (classic!). Throw in a bit of Universal Soldiers ‘Battle Beyond The Stars’ and Fleapit ‘Fight Club’ and you’ve got yourself a dandy little album. The thing about this CDR is that all tracks are blended nicely, but with great track selection. So much so that I would probably only take out two of them. The breadth of UK talent on show here is also impressive, showing all areas of the UK from Nott’s to London to the West Country. There are maybe a few less exclusive tracks than I would like, with only Aspects and Microdisiacs giving up new material. Hopefully this series will continue with more exclusive’s and then you will have everything. I would suggest unless you own most this album on vinyl you really should pick it up, because you will be missing out on some real killer tracks if you don’t. It’s a hell of a lot more impressive than most UK compilations I’ve heard, lets hope it continues, and continues and er continues…
