Cons?iracy Tour of Duty (mixtape)
Not really sure what I should ‘label’ this release as, but it’s not an album and it’s not a mixtape. Perhaps it’s easier to just bite the press release than try and do a bad job myself! “’Tour of Duty’ aims to catalogue the pairs (Dymez & Nicklez) audio endeavours over the last 18 months.” So it’s kinda like the usual un-mixed “mix” tape ting then?
Either way, ‘Tour of Duty’ is a standard above a large number of so called full releases. With more than a handful of the goodness, you’ll be hoping that Cons?iracy continue to document their audio endeavours more often! Tracks like the beautifully smooth vocals on “Ordinary Day” have some really great story telling abilities on show, and the release consistently has loads to offer. “All My Loving” is defiantly my highlight and it’s certainly not some softness like the title suggests. This is some proper thinker-man shit!
Whatever label is slapped on this release is unimportant, because ‘Tour of Duty’ speaks loud and clear through the music and it tells you that Cons?iracy are a group who are hopefully here to stay! This release is more than recommended, it’s essential UK material. Peep like Bo.
