My usual only function for mix tapes is to put them in my walkman when I cant find another tape, or stick it on when the boys are round as a bit of background as I cant be bothered getting up and down and changing the record every five minutes. Well this is different… This tape has been in my Walkman for a few weeks and has seen batteries come and go, as the tape stands firm. This mix tape brought to us by the guys who bring us the club night “Off the hook” award us with a banger of a tape from start to finish, from old and to the new. With artists like Ugly Duckling and Fresh Gordan & Levi 167, its full of breaks, hooks and even Westwood on the radio in his hay day! On the down side I think the UK aint represented as much as it could be on this tape. We al know the quality of the UK is at the highest it has been for years, if this was reflected in the tape contrasted with the old UK shit this tape would truly be the biggest banger since the famous Sausage competition in Hamburg 1974! (OK I made that bit up), but you get what I mean. Sir Gonner also needs to work a bit more on his cuts, but the mixes are spot on and the tape flows effortlessly, so props there too! In conclusion, the tape is still in my Walkman and I will be up the town all tomorrow, the batteries are recharged and the tape is ready for another day of hard graft.
