J-Zone A Bottle Of Whup Ass EP

Oh my god, how fucking nice is this? One of the nicest EP’s I’ve heard in a while. The first track ‘Hitchcock’ is banging, the production is great, the lyrics are great and the best thing is it carry’s on through the whole EP. ‘No Consequences’ has the production that you would get in a car just to drive to, however beware the tracks so funky you my crash from jumping in your seat. The lyrics, well shit the lyrics, some of the tightest lyrics are laid down by J-Zone and Huggy Bear with some serious ease. ‘MS Platonic’ has great beats, with the loops making the track strong like the record was starched. The words are funny as fuck, and will have you listening over an over.

If you haven’t had enough greatness yet, switch over the record to side-b if you will. ‘Orphan Babies’ has great lyrics about how J-Zone was always getting dissed and thing never going his way when he was young, like the fact he kept the same Raincoat in his pocket for ages cos he couldn’t get is leg over. Huggy Bear adds more spice to the track with the same lyrical subject. The production is great also, but the best bit is that the track is dedicated to those who’s parents had the rubber break on the down stroke, Wicked track. ‘Recess’ has yet more wicked lyrics, of which some are supplied by the very talented Al-Shid and nice production, but it’s the way its leads into the great track ‘The First Day at School’ again featuring Al–Shid. The production is so damn tight and the lyrics are fascinating to listen too. ‘Nocturnal Emission’ will get you laughing, maybe even remind you of all those wet dreams you had as a kid, or maybe you wanked so much you never got em?

The best track for me though is ‘Holy Water’, the production on this song could have me out my seat even if I was weighted with concrete. This track is so funky that even the local rude boys would take off the puffer-jacket and get their sorry asses to the dance floor.

There isn’t really much more I can say about this EP, its one of the best you will hear. Its got the right blend between lyrics and production and every track will be worn down by your needle over time. Buy this you suckers!
