 The Beatnuts Find Us 12"

Infectious but off-kilter production from NYC’s legendary beatsmiths. The a-side ‘Find Us’ sounds like new territory for Psycho Les and Juju with a muted and strangely offbeat piece of understated production – featuring vocal snippets underlain by bare handclaps and FX stabs. This one will light up the clubs – but on my system it sounds strangely malnourished – its still a grower though. The b-side ‘Its Nothing’ takes a stronger approach with venomous revenge-fuelled lyrics hitting across a deeper bass laden boom-bap beat. Overall, a surprisingly leftfield title track although its well complimented by a more traditional aggy flipside.
