Some more Seattle hiphop for dat ass! Opps sorry, Narcotik are Vitamin D (Mr. Producer) and C-Note and Tizzy-T (The emcee’s). At this point can I just stop you and point out I’m not the only person into hiphop still sporting a cheesy name, so for that they have already earned extra points. First track ‘The Narcosis’ has production that doesn’t slap you in the face, but it’s more of a simple laid back feel. Strings and some nice soft feeling beats are done subtly, which at the time of night I’m writing this is a very nice thing. The emcee’s are both strong, one more than the other but I’ve no idea which ones which. However Mr. Weaker than the other MC, doesn’t let the track down, he’s still nice with his. Overall a nice laid back track which doesn’t do too much or too little. The second track ‘Makes Me Wanna Bust’ has better production. However its probably not that much better, its just the production is more noticeable on this track. Its got a slow feel, which the emcee’s don’t enjoy rapping over or something, but the lyrics don’t feel quite so comfortable on this track. Can’t put my finger on it, just feels kind of lazy. Its not as bad as it sounds from my description, but in my view its certainly not as good as the first track. I guess that’s why its on the B-side. Because I liked the other Tribal release which I got on the same day, I think this one may have suffered from the fact I enjoyed the first one I played. But if you find both releases I’d pick them up if you can, but if you only got enough money for one I’d say buy Sinsemilla’s single.
