Distrakt Distraktions LP
The Colorado Springs native pulls off a strong debut album, with 'Distraktions' steeped in old school tradition. There is a cornucopia of jazzy productions and boom bap beats that allow MC/Producer Distrakt to drop his technical word plays in a style not dissimilar to Ghostface. There is 21 tracks, with none longer than 2 minutes, check out 'Drugs', '*!*@ Aint Sweet' and 'Stereotypes' for some serious crate digger knowledge.
Distraktions is an album that speaks to the purist, denouncing the current culture of consumption, greed and inflated egos that sadly inflicts modern day Hip Hop.
Props from the likes of MF Doom, De La Soul and support spots on the current Dr Octagon tour will further enhance his reputation. Indeed his live shows are said to be quite the spectacle, setting a microphone on fire to go with his elaborate costume, can you imagine what the show with Kool Keith will be like!?!
