 O.C. & Ntense What U Want From Me 12"

Strange record this, each side of the record has a different emcee and producer, guess it must be to show off the label. But anyway, you all know O.C. by now, and I doubt you will have heard of Ntense. Well ‘What U Want From Me’ is not a really crap track, but it does very little really. It breaks little ground lyrics wise, and Alfdiggi’s beats are not exactly on some next shit. That’s not to say this track isn’t average, but you’ve heard far better O.C. tracks and Ntense doesn’t bring enough to the table to inspire. If your O.C.’s biggest fan you should get this, if just to complete your collection, but don’t expect much at all.

The remix of the lead track by Sonny Rook is no better, in fact worse! But there is a light at the end of the musical tunnel as a quick flick of the vinyl will find you on side B. Stimulus has much less hype, he doesn’t have anything to prove stuck on the B side, but man does this track show up the first. ‘Don’t Tell Me’ is far more playable, the fact the beat is on point helps, with its opera sample is sounds nice and dramatic. The emcee is far more enjoyable, and he rap’s about far more interesting shit than side A’s efforts. Even the remix is quite nice as well, but not as nice as the original. I would certainly like to hear much more of this man, cos he’s ‘fresh y’all’.

If side A was side B I’d say get this record, but it doesn’t seem right you should buy a record with only a good B side. If you see it, I would look further in the creates cos there’s likely to be nicer records than this in there.
