Spy Tech records haven’t let me down yet, showing me the light of new acts breaking new ground in the US. So I get the next by ‘Emanon’ and I can’t fault this one either, its left the Silva glands waiting for a full album from the Spy Tech camp, because it should be good from past releases. The main track ‘Sometimes’ is what makes this release worthy of anyone’s money. Fully beautiful from the emotion stirring production with its deep base and string samples, to the thoughtful lyrics that are well worthy of studying WHEN you get this. Even the chorus is dope as fuck, with is singing. Yep I know singing on a hiphop record, its just not cricket right? But yeah it adds more depth and beauty to a perfect track. The next track ‘Detour’ is more uplifting and club worthy. Not as good as the first, but a totally different vibe, with its rather De La Soul ‘Stakes Is High’ feeling production. The lyrics are not as interesting to listen to, but still solid rhyming structures. The first track is undoubtedly the best, but this is still worth a few spins. So you can’t really go wrong if you come across this in your local shop, plus if you find it, hassle the owner to try get the last two Spy Tech releases.
