Canada seems to be spewing out good hiphop at the moment (not as much as the UK though! – Had to put that in), and this nice little EP echo’s that thought. It sits nicely in the middle of Canada’s artists, somewhere between Murs and Choclair. The reason I say that, is it seems to hover around that dreaded line of commercial success and staying underground. Beats that would happily sit with a ‘heads’ collection, yet would probably satisfy the slightly more adventurous teenybopper. ‘Questions??’ seems to strengthen my case, with its female vocalist chorus, bouncy beats yet you don’t feel cheated. All four tracks that you get are similar in that sense, yet all have an appeal to you and me, plus the lyrics are heavy, with ‘Crossing The Lines’ being the worst, and in a sense the most ‘underground’ sounding. I’d suggest you’d check it out though, and after speaking with the said artist is seems like UK distribution could be possible. So keep an eye out, and give it a little try, I think you’ll be surprised. Oh on a final note S Club 7 are mentioned on this EP. I wasn’t aware we had spread these demons across the world… shame on us!!!
