Lordroc Who R U? 12" This single from Lordroc on Skygod Entertainment is a nice sample of what this label is putting out. Good street hiphop without the annoying street clichés is the diet here, the first track ‘Who are you?’ has some real production going on, some instruments playing in the background with the beats stalking over the top. The MCing over the top is also on some good shit, nice fast flow which isn’t so fast that it annoys. Basically asking who the fuck are you? Lordroc certainly makes people look up and say ‘Who the fuck is this’. The next track ‘No more’ on the B-side has got slightly less interesting beats, they still get your head bobbing though, the rhythms aren’t as tight as on the first track either.
