To me there's something about a 45rpm 7" piece of vinyl that instantly makes it a firm favourite in my record collection, particularly if the tracks on it are of high standard. So thankfully top London night Breakin Bread are stepping up the issuing of their 'sevens series' and this, their 3rd, is the latest. Rob Life one of the regulars at the night and no stranger to producing (check out his previous solo EP and works on Quakes and Beats In Progress) makes this his 2nd two-tracker on the label. Fast becoming known for some quality funk-edged hiphop breaks, beats and scratches condensed into 3 minute tracks, this latest release makes no exception. "Here's One I Made Earlier" and "The Great Rhythm Caper", both top tunes, guaranteed to make any dancefloor with taste shift bits of their bodies that you previously hadn't seen shifted. You can't really give an indepth review in something which is essentially a piece of dance music. Why critically analyse it beyond recognition if it makes your booty move? It should be enough to say that this 7", and the two preceding it from Rob Life & Quantic are darn fine bits of wax and shouldn't be overlooked. Jam promoters!! Fed up of shoe gazing head nodders clogging up your shows? Buy some Breakin' Bread vinyl, drop it and get the world dancing again!
