 Color Climax Batidas Latinas/CrabWalk 7"

I was unfortunate enough to be working away when Color Climax played their debut 'homecoming' live show at Browns in Coventry late last year and the quality of these two tracks makes me curse that fact even more.

Color Climax's second 7" to themselves for the ever-superb Breakin Bread label pushes all the right buttons on the funk and hiphop tips and even heads in a Latin direction on the A-side cut 'Batidas Latinas'. It's a double header based around the same drum break, 'Batidas' with its Spanish vocal sample, bass, keys and crispy drum track and the more pared-down 'CrabWalk' which lets the expanded drum track do the talking with guitars, bass and Hammond dropping the funk deeper and deeper into the track.

So back to the 7"s from the BB crew and it's as if they never went away with this superlative slice of dancefloor action...
