Ill Boogs Gypsy Rock/The Grump 7"

Just 'cos you can dance what makes you think you can make music for dancers eh? Ill Boogs, one of the UK's top b-boys takes on this challenge and comes out a winner.

After a recent stint of 12s Breakin Bread returns to the well loved dinked 45, two short sharp tracks aimed straight at the dancefloor with their usual high standard of tune selection

'Gypsy Rock' is a live band feeling slice of supreme funk, staple bass, drums, keys and horns, a couple of breakdowns and signature changes, the sound of a good dancefloor and a headnodding car chase through the streets of San Francisco!

Flip for 'The Grump', a slower more cut up affair, funky chugga wah guitar throughout, heavier drums and the 'come as standard' horn stabs. Going by the tried and tested, 'if it works don't deviate' route there's little changing throughout the track but as a mid-set floor filler it'll be spot on

This B-Boy proves he knows his onions on the production desk as well as on the lino with a couple of classic classy pieces of funky hiphop

Ill Boogs 'Gypsy Rock' 7" is released 3rd October on Breakin Bread (BNB021)
