King Biscuit Time C I Am 15 ft. Rodney P & Braintax 7" Ex-Beta Band frontman Steve Mason serves up some musical weirdness in ‘C I Am 15’, under the guise of his alter-ego, King Biscuit Time. From the artists name, to the music on offer, this is anything but conventional music. The original mix features some fella called Topcat who chats raga style over a slow, marching beat with the occasional deep snyth and acoustic guitar sample. Mason also throws in some rather sparse lyrics of his own for the ‘hook’. Whilst it’s not a certified banger, this catchy track certainly reverberates around your head for the rest of the day. However, it’s the C. Swing Remix on the B-side featuring Rodney P & Braintax that’ll be the most interest to you lot. A more fired up production, which is perfect for the clubs, sees Joey Brains and Rodney laying down a verse each. Juxtaposed next to Mason’s off-key droning, which remains in the centre of the track, it works surprisingly well.
