Supra Silhouettes 12" This instrumental 3 tracker is an absolute belter! If your not usually into your pure instrumental hiphop then this is the best place to start. I’m very much into my lyrics but Supra has managed to capture the whole vibe of a track into the beats with no need for lyrics at all. You will also find your self thinking up some nice lines to fit in over the top of these master pieces. The first track ‘Silhouettes’ is one of the most moody, well put together tracks I’ve heard in a long time. The piano loops used change at just the right places, with the beat not drowning out the sample but complementing it. This track is an absolute must hear. ‘Trade Winds’ is not as peaceful as the first track, its seems to have been made with the intention of rhyming over it. Nice track to put on if your having a little cypha going on. Basically it doesn’t hold your attention as a piece of music like the others. ‘Winter Sky’ is more of the first track. An utterly butterly track, with the samples and beats gelling. This track for me sets a very Landscape sort of feel (maybe that’s the point with the label being Landscape recordings). Sort of a looking out to sea feel. Ahhh fuck knows, but its damn tasty. I condemn anyone who over looks this, hiphop beats at there best and he’s from Sheffield, yippee!
