Styly Cee The Test Match bw/ No Pills, No Frills 7"

Son have been dropping a succession of dope 7” records recently and this is the latest instalment. Styly Cee is back, alongside the Notts paring of Cappo & Midnyte, who both get a side each to do their thing. It’s the massively underrated Cappo who shines the brightest on ‘The Test Match’. Rather than it being an ode to our willow wielding friends, this is just a playful track with Cappo’s usual uncompromising rhymes and Styly Cee’s unmistakeably funky NY sound. Whist it’s fundamentally nothing new from either contributor, the confidence in the sound is there for all to hear. Midnyte’s ‘No Pills, No Frills’ is nothing to be ashamed of yet it feels less complete as the other track.

This is not just another collector’s item 7”, this is one you’ll be playing on the regular and whilst one track stands out more than the other, it‘s certainly worth flipping over every now and again.
