After a couple of releases featuring his homegrown Sheffield lot (Doyen & hisself) Supra turns to his new home of Manchester and the excellent Microdisiacs. Chuck in Evil Ed to do the beat on one side and you know this 7" isn't going to disappoint. Cramming as much as you can on a 7" bit of plastic this release comes with two cuts, the instrumentals and two beats. Evil Eds 'Too Late' feels a bit underproduced, as if the pressing hasn't helped bring out the best of the track, Supras 'When the Rain Stops' side sounds much better quality. That's pressing-quality, cos you can't fault either man in their excellence at beat construction. As for Manchesters finest, they deliver as expected, the triumverate of MC's Konfuz'd, TBC & Real Deal flowing nicely over their beats and just emphasize the fact that this crew are going to be one to watch. It's not out till May, but maybe if you ask Supra nicely and buy the Doyen 12 and his solo 7 at the same time he might sell you one. Support.
