The Guvnor (You Can’t) Blag A Blagger b/w Faredodger 7"
The 2nd of two 7’s to be released in quick succession by Rawcreation belongs entirely to one artist, unlike the first. The Guvnor has been given the opportunity to bless both sides of the single with their production, lyrically aided by ClevCleverley on the a-side.
‘You Can’t Blag a Blagga’ is a paranormal sounding tune, with all sorts of odd synths making jungle & ghost noises plus stretched reverb bass lines adding further to the somewhat dark feeling of the track. Clev’s voice is perfect, sounding a bit whiney and ghost like to fit in with the theme. The b-side ‘Faredodger’ is dark and mystical sounding too, but with minimal use of vocals this lets the imagination run wild a bit more. Perhaps a bit samey the way through, but nevertheless a vivid, well produced track.
With this 7 and indeed the other recent 7 inch release, Rawcreation are showing promising intentions for the up and coming year. If these are anything to go by, expect some more moody electro, hiphop, northern sounding madness coming your way soon.
