Blak Twang & Joni Rewind Bonafied Flava 12"

Tony Rotten steps up here with a tasty white label reputedly constructed on a recent tour of Germany. The first cut is nicely put together - a tight tight beat set to match the vocal flow we all know well. A stuttered stabbed loop bangs on bassily for the whole track with the tiny pitter of an understated break underpinning the tempo - the lyrics are hot n' come correct throughout - "Give em a slap, A spinal tap, Is it cos I is black?, You wanna come with wisecrack char, I dont give a rass about your class or star status, Or tellin' about your chart places..." The second tune is a lot more smooth in terms of its beat - a rounded bassline n' a single guitar string hold it with a large snare to make a more cohesive sound than the one used on the first track. The cut is titled "No Souvenirs" n' the chorus in particular comes with a quite retrospective feel "Thinking back over these years, lifetimes struggles in a world affair, these are the roles n' the cross we bear, its a world full of wickedness, no souvenir" n' lyrically as you would expect from Blak Twang its full of punchy oneliners to crack a smile on the biggest screwface - "Endangered species go up in smoke like tobacco, rearranging physical features like wacko Jacko....little belter, Score more goals than Paul Scoles or Anelka..." A really nice 12 - hope it gets a proper release - if you catch a gripse of a copy in your local shop - listen once n' you'll know if you dont pick it up then it aint gonna be there tomorrow.
