New twelve from the talented former ‘OutDaVille’ emcee. A-side ‘Stan Bac’ immediately hits hard with a paranoid sub-heavy roller coming complete with grimy ’88 PE style analogue flips n’ loops. The multi-layered production from Nick Stez accelerates throughout the track to culminate in a razor sharp cut-laden breakdown. On the vocal tip – C’mone absolutely rips it with a sassy tale of feisty girls hitting the town on a Friday night. On the flipside ‘Disfunktional’ takes a quieter warmer approach with subtle toned production being overlaid with a direct personal tale of those key character-building moments that spring up in peoples lives. Overall, a wonderful taster for this Notts gals debut LP due later in the year. I preferred the harsher femme fatale mannerisms of the A-side; but on this 12” C-mone has represented with two distinctive tracks showcasing well-delivered lyricism and hip hop production that matches her multi-faceted style.
