All-embracing introduction to the London based BC400 crew. Opening cut ‘Toast Masters’ moves through the gears with a quirky eclectic brew of reggae influenced hip hop – the production maintains a hard uptempo dancefloor element allowing the different BC400 emcees to speedily rip multi-lingual flows. A very original track that provides an adept audio journey through creative minds – definitely not one for the straight hip hop heads – keep your mind wide open for this one. Flipside ‘Run to the Hills’ features strictly business vocal duties by the whole buttercuts crew – essentially a dance track driven through with hiphop drums, zestful panache, and true soundsystem attitude. Overall, a nice twelve uniting together different cultural imprints with multi-lingual styles symbiotically working together across a combined ska, hip hop, reggae and dub backdrop. Look forward to hearing a longplayer from this crew as it’ll definitely be a melting pot of style and skills.
