Beefeaterz From Here to Hereafter 12"

This follow-up to the “Can of Worms” EP features one of the UK’s sharpest wits as part of the Beefeaterz line-up. Angry is full of good humour and excellent puns and metaphors. On the first track on the EP. “Intrigue 4 Inbreeds” has a gorgeous folk guitar melody on it and Angry Man is able to walk all over it. Tracks featuring Wytfang and Junior Disprol all crop on this great EP. Highlight track here is creepy slightly eerie “The Worm has Turned”. Using horror film strings to create a brooding atmosphere over a live funk bass, Angry Man is able to represent with his brusque flow. “Your Funeral” features Wytfang from the Underground Alliance and has a nice circus atmosphere to it, with almost Postman Pat-like stabs in the background. Angry Man and Wytfang really shine on this one. The track with Junior Disprol shows why this fierce West Country boy is really one of the best rhymers in the country, with his use of metaphors, similes and intricately clever wordplay. Angry Man and Junior Disprol on a track together is a sure good thing.

This has been a good year for UK hip-hop artists to push forward and release little things here and there. It’ll be good to see all these cats turn this potential into long lasting careers and work on long players and not keep releasing Eps all the time. In the meantime though, this is such a dope release. The Beefeaterz rock man.

Check it.
