Plymouth crew’s sophomore release on the Aerosolik label. Rousing opening cut ‘We Fight Alone’ sets a robust tone with snappy drums, atmospheric organs and dark string sweeps sitting underneath well delivered and punchy lyrics from solo emcee Milestone – a deep headnodder. ‘Example’ takes a similar epic approach to production with dominating orchestration building to a killer crescendo – the deep rolling beat and aggy lyrics fit together snugly to generate a razor sharp track. The flipside doesn’t have the same immediate impact but ‘Emcee Suicide’ drops battle rhymes over a fast paced synth break, whilst ‘All We Got’ uses simple loops and a sampled operatic vocal to lift the easy headnod vibe. Overall, four diverse tracks highlighting a talented crew working the angles and finding real creative success. A real grower.
