Concentration Camp Check Da Broadcast 12" Second release from the London-based Smoking Mics imprint presenting two debut posse cuts. First up ‘Check Da Broadcast’ features four emcees trading verses across an extremely inconspicuous beat – the rappers hold down their delivery but the whole track lacks substantive punch – their cause isn’t helped by the low profile production and strangling muddy mixdown. On the flip ‘The Gathering’ has a more dynamic approach with tighter production allowing greater room for each emcee to drop vigorous couplets – this cut carries more immediate weight and serves as a better introduction to each crew members individual flair and delivery.
