The Perceptionists are Mr.Lif, Akrobatik and Fakts One, all from Boston and all with rock solid hip hop credentials. And with ‘Party Hard’ they’re bringing some serious funk to the dancefloors. A simple, hard-hitting beat laced with horns forms the backbone of this party track (if the title didn’t already give it away), which also features Guru and Camu Tao (who produced the track by the way). Lyrics wise it works perfectly with the marriage of Lif’s more monotone styles, Guru’s classic delivery and Akrobatik’s stronger and faster pace, hitting all the right spots and leaving you unable not to nod your head. And all this carries on to the Cavemen remix which strips the beat down to its simpler elements, leaving the lyrics breathe a bit more and hitting you hard with some nasty drums and bass as well as nifty little edits. Once more the track becomes a simple and very effective dancefloor offering that’s bound to get people moving. The original is good and frankly the remix just makes it that little bit better. Again all I can say is do not sleep people!
