Ian Beef Spit Roast 12"
“Spit Roast” is the lead single from the comedy LP “Pleased to Meet You, With Beats to Please You”. Whilst the LP had very few tracks that could stand out from under the umbrella of the album... this was one of that few. “Spit Roast” fitted happily into the meaty theme of the album, but its less random lyrical content means people are more likely to get into it as a single.
A single that talks about “cum belches” is always going to raise a few eyebrows, but the bouncy beat means this is still a potential club track. The remix which uses a “Wildstyle” beat adds to the club friendly nature of the single, but I still think only a select few deejays would be prepared to throw this in their mix. Hopefully though, those brave enough will be rewarded with a good reaction, because this is something a little bit different.
