DangerDoom Old School 12"
It would seem dudes everywhere are crying over the DangerDoom projects and why not, it is a fairly killer combination. ‘Old School’ is one of the more tear worthy tracks for sure, so it’s a great choice for the next DangerDoom single.
The Talib Kweli featured banger does exactly what it says on the tin like Ronseal, keeping it old school with a beat that will have bboys and girls falling over themselves to represent to. Chunky and fast paced, this has some real energy and the extended horn sample keeps an uplifting vibe. The presence of Talib Kweli also sits rather nicely, as Doom isn’t always the best at carrying a party track with his lazy-nasal delivery.
The other two tracks are a Madlib remix of ‘Space Ho’s’ which sounds a little drowned by the fairground wurlwitzer sample and the more impressive Danger Mouse remix of ‘Sofa King’ with a guitar sample that sounds funkier than a mosquitoes tweeter. Still, it’s all about the A-side which kills the noise on every rotation and rightly deserves to be a regular club track over the summer. I know I’ll be throwing down like a wally if I’m in a club and they drop it!
