Supar Novar Tomorrow b/w Nothing Left To Say 12"
Man, Supar Novar and Kemet in general are sure keeping up the pressure with their releases. With all this pressure building, I hope the pot doesn’t boil over before the album gets released! And despite this single being dope, with its raga twang, “Tomorrow”, as the name suggests may be a day or 2 too late. That’s because despite the somewhat depressing subject matter, there is something wholly summery about it due to the dub styles. With the temperature barely pushing 5ºC, forgive me for not feeling too much like throwing on some bathers!
The b-side however hits the nail on the head better with the retro “Nothing Left To Say” owing to the production being on some Gary Newman shit, I love it! Not enough producers use snyths to generate a real nice retro feel in my opinion! His lyrics bare all and it definitely allows you to get a little bit closer to Supar Novar as an artist.
Between these two tracks, you’ve got yourself a fairly tight 12”. Despite this though, it must be time to drop the album after this though surely? Whilst I’m enjoying these 12’s, I just want to get me teeth in the real thing now.
