Over the years Amon Tobin has become one of Ninja Tune’s most well known artist, with each of his releases generally coming with the type of hype that a lot of labels wish they could gather.
Personally I’ve never really been a fan outside of some of his tracks on Ninja’s many compilations. However this new release, taken from the forthcoming new album ‘Foley Room’, really deserves the hype that comes with it.
See all the sounds on the album were recorded naturally by Amon and his team before being processed and arranged by the man himself – the result is some seriously haunting and inspiring instrumental music that breaches genres and boundaries and just ends up being constantly bumped in your player while walking the streets – which seems only natural considering where the music comes from.
If the 3 tracks on offer here are anything to go by the album could well be one of the year’s best.
