Conman Life Goes On 12"
It's over a decade since a certain Tupac Amaru Shakur rapped the words 'Life Goes On' in one of his more introspective records. Indeed he was right and ten years later we hear West Midlands based artist Conman repeating his sentiments in this enjoyable slice of sentimental UK Hip-Hop.
A nice beat by Wolftowns Tricksta provides a suitable backdrop for some insightful lyrics that lead to a catchy sing-a-long chorus. "You can lose all your worldly possessions but not your soul/ Lose all your efforts but definitely not your goals" spit's a philosophical Con at the end of the first verse.
On the down side, the track doesn't push any boundaries lyrically or conceptually, although in a world where music is now so accessible it becomes increasingly difficult to cover new ground in these departments. On the whole then, although 'Life Goes On' is nothing groundbreaking, it proves a worthy effort from the Wolftown boys.
